Explained: Here's How You Will Be Able to Register for Covid-19 Vaccine in India With Co-WIN App

Back in March, the Central government started working on a new mobile app namely CoWin-20 to help citizens track the number of positive covid-19 cases around them. The app was later launched as Aarogya Setu that currently has over ten crore downloads on Google Play Store. But the erstwhile Co-WIN app remains to be still in the works, but with a different purpose. Now, the government during a press conference earlier this week explained the functionality of the Co-WIN app, that is, primarily to help agencies track the distribution of vaccines as well as enable citizens of the country to register for the vaccination process. To ensure smooth tracking and registration for vaccine, the Co-WIN app is divided into five modules namely administrator module, registration module, vaccination module, beneficiary acknowledgement module, and report module. Citizens who are not frontline health workers will be able to register for the vaccine via the registration module. "It will upload bulk data on co-morbidity provided by local authorities or by surveyors," the government had explained.........Read more

Why oil prices are crashing and what it means

Saudi Arabia, the world's top exporter, launched a price war over the weekend. The move followed the implosion of an alliance between the OPEC cartel, led by Saudi Arabia, and Russia. Since then, the two leading exporters have orchestrated supply cuts of 2.1 million barrels per day. Saudi Arabia wanted to increase that number to 3.6 million barrels through 2020 to take account of weaker consumption. But Russian President Vladimir Putin, worried about ceding too much ground to American oil producers, refused to go along with the plan and his energy minister, Alexander Novak on Friday signaled a fierce battle to come for market share when he said countries could produce as much as they please from April 1.........Read more
