Trump's latest restriction on immigration is likely to impact thousands of Indian nationals who are waiting for their Green Cards. America has a provision to issue 1,40,000 employment-based Green Cards every year. In 2019, Indian nationals received 9,008 category 1 (EB1), 2,908 category 2 (EB2), and 5,083 category 3 (EB3) Green Cards. Around 227,000 Indian nationals are in line to get a family sponsored Green Card, according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). "We must first take care of the American worker. The State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest lender on Monday announced reduction in its external benchmark-based rate by 25 basis points to 7.80 percent from 8.05 percent. Jammu leaders released from house arrest almost 2 months after Centre imposed restrictions

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday ended the house arrest of all politicians in Jammu. However, local leaders in the Kashmir Valley are still under detention or house arrest, reports said. The government's move comes almost two months after the Centre imposed restrictions on communications and public movement as "preventive measures" ahead of the abrogation of Article 370 in the restive region. The measures to contain possible unrest after the abrogation of the law which gave the region a certain degree of autonomy also included putting local leaders in Jammu and the Valley under preventive detention. Former chief ministers Farooq and Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, and Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference's Sajjad Gani Lone were among those put under house arrest in Kashmir. TRAI says new mobile number portability (MNP) fee will be effective from September 30

TRAI has announced that the new fee of Rs 5.74 for mobile number portability will be effective from September 30, 2019. The telecom regular adds that the new cost was computed on the basis of cost reimbursement following the change in architecture. The new per port transaction charge (PPTC), reduced by almost 70 percent, will benefit recipient telecom operators. Currently, the recipient telecom operators have to pay Rs 19 for every consumer acquired, to MNP service providers such as Syniverse Technologies and MNP Interconnection Telecom Solutions. “These (mobile portability) charges are based on a cost reimbursement principle and computed accordingly to arrive at a Rs 5.74 pricing to be effective from September 30,” TRAI chairman RS Sharma told ETTelecom. Once the new tariff for MNP kicks in, telecom companies such as Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio can save nearly Rs 75 crore annually. “We have changed the architecture of MNP. Initially, it was a Unique Porting Code (UPC) being generated by donor operators that have a legitimate interest to retain their subscribers, and have more rejections,” Sharma told the publication.........Read more
